The 7th World Congress of Environmental and Resource Economists runs 29 June to 3 July at the Nova SBE Carcavelos Campus near Lisbon, Portugal, and RESET Network members, partners, and advisors will be presenting throughout the week.

We are especially proud that RESET Advisor Juan-Pablo Montero (Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile) will deliver a keynote.

A few sessions to put on your calendar:

  • Beyond GWP: Implementing Economically Grounded Exchange Rates for Superpollutants in Global Carbon Markets, chaired by Luis Fernández Intriago (Management Team) and Kristina Mohlin (Member)
  • Carbon Markets in the Global South: Innovation, Development, and International Cooperation, featuring Shreekant Gupta (Advisor), Juan-Pablo Montero (Advisor), and Xian Hu (Member)
  • Global carbon pricing: the feasibility of a utopian idea, featuring Juan-Pablo Montero (Advisor) and Carolyn Fischer (Partner)

Beyond these, our community is presenting across many more sessions: on renewable energy procurement, demand-side flexibility, fossil fuel subsidy reform, carbon border adjustments, heat stress, and the distributional effects of climate policy. You will find colleagues from EDF, PUC Chile, Universidad de los Andes, the Indian Statistical Institute, LSE, the University of Gothenburg, and the World Bank, among others.

If you are in Lisbon, come find us. We would welcome the chance to talk about South-led just energy transitions and how the RESET Network can support your work.
