Abstract
This is a summary report of a workshop held on 17 January 2020 by the National Institute of Advanced Studies (NIAS), in collaboration with related government stakeholders (MOES), discussing an optimal electricity generation mix for India’s Southern Region, considering the roles of renewable energy, thermal power, and hydropower in meeting the region’s future demand while addressing environmental and cost considerations.
